Silent Prayer is the solo project of Keat, the former guitarist of rap metal band Silent Prayer. This young artist manages to keep things simple. Nothing is overdone and the simplicity is one of the things that make his music so brilliant.

CCCS is a comic event created and organized by One Art Club.

CCCS gathers Malaysian comic artists into one solid exhibition of comic art, featuring works exploring the world of cuteness, or what we call “Cutie Cultie”.

It’s main objective-to provoke the imagination of the general public, students and in particular art enthusiasts into the world of comic art.

Kinsun Journey to StART Solo Exhibition

Born in 1972, Malaysian art maestro Kinsun (a.k.a. Kinsun Loh) initiates his burning passion for art since young. Soon after Kinsun graduated from The One Academy in 1994, he embarked on an inspiring journey in the bountiful world of comic and illustration art, where he shares his professional expertise with the masses both as a lecturer and academic advisor to enthusiastic learners.

The One Academy principal Tatsun Hoi has even applauded him as ‘highly dynamic’ and an ‘all-rounded artist’, with endless flow of recognition poured in by the industry. Kinsun’s portfolio envelops his successful profession in the creative arena over the years including DC Comic Batman where his fine expertise was sought after, as well as becoming a comic illustrator for top-selling Hong Kong comic Storm Riders.


An industry-savvy master brimmed with skills of traditional painting techniques, Kinsun ventures into the field of digital arts (CG). In 1996, he co-founded Sixth Creation, a creative studio that coaches, encourage and nurture the next generation of art apprentices, bridging creative minds and young artists together to fuel their dreams and mark even greater creative aspirations of the industry.


Kinsun’s Journey to stART exhibition will feature over 50 out of his 300 renowned masterpieces that has charted the course of his 15-year career in professional illustration, along with high-quality illustration piece and concept painting resulted from the inception of Sixth Creation studio which bears clientele of local and international names, from Nike to leading mobile network DiGi.

If you’re a comic enthusiast, this is an opportunity not-to-be-missed. Mark your calendar as The One Academy unveils a series of comic events throughout the whole November in conjunction with the Manga Suki Comic & Art Exhibition 2007 .


"Manga " is the Japanese word referring to comics and print cartoons while ‘Suki’ literally means like. When combined together, it simply means “We Love Comic”. Though manga has been long created and gained popularity worldwide, it has only recently become the craze in Malaysia.


To drum up the frenzy for comic among those who practically live and breathe comic, The One Academy will gather 20 talented local artists and manga lovers to showcase more than 60 pieces of brilliant comics and comic arts at the Comic & Art Exhibition 2007.


Not only will the exhibition open your eyes to impressive manga pieces, you will also witness a live demonstration on ‘Rendering Comic Art Digitally’ by our Illustration tutor Beatrice Tan. Beatrice recently makes name for herself through her own developed manga artworks which she posted onto an online art forum deviantart.com. and is more popularly known as Kid Chan to her manga fans from far and near, such as Germany, Spain, the US, Thailand, Singapore and Malaysia.


Manga lovers will also be enlightened by Benny Wong at a talk titled ‘Malaysia Comic’. More popularly known as Ben, he is an internationally recognised local manga artist who prevailed as the runner-up at the International Manga Award Japan.


Besides, unveil the ingenious and genuine manga works by The One Academy students at the Manga Suki Contest, which put their creativity and innovation to the test. The prize-giving ceremony will be held on 24th of November with prizes sponsored by GrandTech Systems Sdn. Bhd, one of Asia’s leaders in distributing professional communications software and hardware; and Wacom, the world’s largest manufacturer of digital tablets and pens.


A Comic Bazaar will further stir up the entire comic & art exhibition, which features streaks of publications and art products by The One Academy students at The One Gallery, creating a convenient platform for manga lovers to seek relevant helpful materials.
